Brierley Hill Babybank is raising money through a crowdfunding campaign for a new van after its current one was written off in an accident. If you can help with a donation of any size, you can do so at this link.
Brierley Hill Babybank is a registered charity that helps families with essential items in times of need, providing a maximum of 3 packs per year to families referred to them by professionals.
Earlier this year Brierley Hill Babybank won the Strong Families Award at Dudley CVS AGM and Community Action Awards in recognition of the vital work it carries out to make a significant difference to local families.
The charity supports over 100 families a month and the van is its lifeline, with a whopping 73% of packs going to working families and those working hard to make ends meet. This could include parents that have gone through or fleeing domestic violence, relationship breakdowns, job loss, reduced hours, those with disabilities, parents suffering with their mental health and those that find themselves in a crisis. Packs distributed include items like fresh bedding, warm clothing, toys to reach developmental milestones, nappies, toiletries, a pram to escape isolation, a stairgate to keep baby safe and such alike items that are deemed as an essential need.
A new van would make it much easier to make sure these essential packs reach the people who need it most at the charity’s busiest time of year. If you can donate, visit Brierley Hill Babybank’s fundraising page.
