Dudley CVS has been awarded a government grant to take the lead role in bringing about major changes to the way local voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) interact with public and   private sector organisations.

Transforming Local Infrastructure (TLI) is part of the government’s plan to support ‘civil society’ organisations during a period of significant change. The government is committed to changing the way public sector  services are delivered at local level and wants service users and residents to become involved with service design and delivery. Dudley CVS, through the TLI programme, will help local VCOs to become more ‘savvy’ and better able to seize and maximise opportunities that are coming forward.

In essence, TLI aims to make it easier for VCOs to forge better links with local businesses and develop stronger partnerships with local public sector bodies. TLI aspires to transform and modernise services to local charities by providing high quality and more joined -up support to those on the front line.

Dudley will grow innovative and enterprising relationships across all sectors and to provide VCOs with the increased entrepreneurial skills to enable them to bid for and take on public sector contracts and asset development. Dudley CVS will engage experienced private sector partners to help VCOs become more business-like; nurturing confident  leadership using custom-designed business mentoring and learning programmes.
