Our strategic objectives

To develop a high quality and pro-active voluntary sector for the benefit of the
residents of the Dudley Borough by positively engaging partners in support of
voluntary activity

The Christmas lights and decorations may be stored back in the loft and the mince pies have long since passed their sell-by date, but there was one last bit of Christmas 2012 to celebrate recently.

The annual Dudley CVS Operation Santa Toy Appeal 2012 appeal was another record-breaking effort by the people of Dudley borough. Thanks to the fabulous generosity of individuals and voluntary groups, together with officers and employees of Dudley MBC, West Midlands Police, Fire Service, Primary Care Trust, local residents and the business community, 6082 local children enjoyed a 2012 Christmas treat. The number was nearly 60% higher than the 2011 appeal, which itself was a new record.

Collection points throughout the borough received over 4,000 toys, gifts and food for children from new born to teenagers.

There were also monetary contributions, most notably, Pedmore Sporting Trust which donated £2,000 and Geoff and Sue Hill of Hill’s Electrical in Amblecote who donated £1,000

Staff and Councillors at Dudley Council donated over 800 items, largely due to the prompting and organisation by Maren Lilley in the Chief Executives office.

The 2013 Ho Ho Hope Operation Santa Toy Appeal is already beginning to roll, so for more information on how to get involved call Eileen Fielding on 01384 267414.
