Dudley Council is seeking a secondment from an established voluntary and community sector organisation. The post will progress the Council's Transforming for the Future programme and strengthen collaboration between the council and the voluntary sector in Dudley borough. Dudley Council is seeking to second a suitably qualified/experienced member of staff currently working within a voluntary and community organisation. Reporting to the Public Health Programme Manager, the successful person will require the agreement of their Manager and employing organisation to be released from their existing role for a period of up to 2 years. Funds will be provided to the employing organisation to backfill the successful person’s substantive post.

Dudley Council is looking for someone who can demonstrate flexibility, innovative thinking and the ability to respond at pace, and who is able to live up to the Council’s values and behaviours. In addition, the successful person will be required to have established relationships and a proven track record of working with a range of small, medium and large voluntary sector organisations in the borough. They will be well placed to lead and support these organisations to work in a way which embeds the Love Your Community approach and be able to lead, motivate and inspire, as well as sensitively manage any tensions and challenges which may arise. The role will support the delivery of key objectives outlined in the Community Council (Love Your Community) action plan.

The post is expected to commence in September 2016 and is open to anyone currently working for a voluntary sector organisation in the Dudley borough.
